Hey
everyone,
I brought this up at the meeting and wanted to post something online
as well...I will be going to Washington DC again this year and would
be
happy to make tracings/rubbings at the memorial for anyone who would
want one. For those who don't know about it, there is a marble wall
at the National Police Memorial that has the name of every officer
known to have died in the line of duty. Their names of engraved
into the
marble and we make rubbings of them for those who can't attend the
services. They look great put into a frame and is a nice way to
remember
our fallen brothers and sisters. A lot of the officers I used to
work with would also pin one up at their desk or tape it up in their
locker.
Anyone wanting a rubbing of any of the names on the wall, just has
to get me the officers' names, department, and the end of watch date
if you
have it. I'll be there for several days and will make as many as
you want. Just give me a list of names and the number of each that
you want
(just in case you know someone else who would want one).
On a side note...I found a great place in PV to have patches sewn
on. It's called Elegant Brides & Evening Wear and is at 8532 E
State Route 69
(actually on Frontage road next to the "Donut Hole"). Their phone
number is (928) 772-7440. They only charged me $3 for each
shoulder-sized
patch and $5 to sew on our back patch. I had four shoulder patches
and the back patch sewn on, and it was done by the next day. Not
bad
for $17. The back patch was a bit of work, so I wouldn't be
surprised if she adds a couple of bucks to it, but it's still a
great price. Just thought
I'd pass the info along.
Take care & ride safe;
